Coach Bob is Great

Im just a dad coaching youth soccer and am learning the game as I go. This app has been a huge help managing player substitutions. And, it is way more reliable than a parent on the sidelines with a clip board.

Once you have it set up, it takes very little of your attention during the game to use it. My main purpose in buying it was to manage substitutions. For the age-level I coach, U9, we do mass substitutions, so when it is time to sub, I just push the button and it randomly assigns players to positions. Five minutes later, we do it again.

Since they at so young, we encourage them to play all positions. It is easy, however, to retstrict a player (like your goalie) to a position until you decide to make a change.

One important tip if you buy: Coach Bob is VERY EASY to use, but dont attempt to set it up 5 minutes before your first game. Set it up well in advance and play with it while you are at work or sitting on the couch. That way you wont be surprised/frustrated when you start the game. Same tip applies if there is an update. One update loaded a bunch of new features and I was stumbling a bit when the game started.
